Description

Create a spooky and delicious Spider Candy Bark perfect for Halloween parties or festive treats. This easy no-bake recipe combines dark and white chocolate with crunchy Oreos, decorated with piped chocolate spiders and red candy melt details for a fun and impressive candy bark.

Ingredients

Chocolate Bark Base

  • 20 oz dark chocolate
  • 5 oz white chocolate
  • 12 Oreos

Decorations

  • 2 oz red candy melts
  • Black food gel coloring
  • Optional: Sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Melt Dark Chocolate: Melt 15 oz of dark chocolate over a double boiler, stirring occasionally until fully melted and smooth. Add a small amount of black food gel coloring to deepen the chocolate color as desired.
  2. Crush Oreos: Break the Oreos into small pieces or crumbs for easy mixing and texture.
  3. Combine and Spread: Stir the crushed Oreos into the melted dark chocolate until evenly distributed. Spread this mixture evenly over a 9"x13" baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone mat. Let it cool at room temperature until completely set.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Melt white chocolate over a double boiler until smooth and fully melted. Drizzle the melted white chocolate over the set dark chocolate and Oreo bark. Add sprinkles if using for extra decoration. Allow it to set at room temperature.
  5. Melt Remaining Dark Chocolate: Melt the remaining 5 oz dark chocolate over the double boiler and add black food gel coloring again to deepen the color.
  6. Pipe Spider Bodies and Heads: Pour half of the melted dark chocolate into a piping bag, snip a hole at the tip, and pipe spider bodies and heads on the bark surface.
  7. Pipe Spider Legs: Pour the remaining dark chocolate into a second piping bag with a smaller snip for a thinner tip. Pipe legs extending from each spider body. Let all chocolate decorations set at room temperature.
  8. Add Red Candy Melt Details: Melt the red candy melts in a double boiler until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag and pipe eyes and the hourglass shapes onto the spider bodies to mimic a black widow spider’s markings. Let the entire bark set completely before breaking into pieces and serving.

Notes

  • Use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat to easily remove the bark from the pan.
  • Ensure each chocolate layer is fully set before adding the next to avoid mixing colors.
  • Room temperature setting works well, but you can speed it up by refrigerating briefly if needed.
  • Customize the decorations with different candy melts or sprinkles for different occasions.
  • Store the bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.
