Description
This Sheet Pan Sliders recipe offers a quick and easy way to make delicious cheeseburger sliders all in one pan. Ground beef is layered with cheddar cheese, baked to your desired doneness, and topped with a tangy homemade burger sauce, fresh tomato, and lettuce, then served on soft brioche slider buns. Perfect for parties or a casual family dinner, these sliders combine the classic flavors of a cheeseburger with the convenience of a sheet pan meal.
Ingredients
For the Sliders
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 12 brioche slider buns or soft dinner rolls
- Sliced tomato, for topping
- Leaf lettuce, for topping
For the Burger Sauce
- 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- 1 tablespoon pickle juice
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425ºF (218ºC) to ensure it is hot enough to cook the beef evenly and melt the cheese properly.
- Prepare the Sheet Pan: Line a 9” by 13” quarter sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent stickiness and make cleanup easier.
- Layer the First Beef Layer: Sprinkle half of the ground beef evenly over the parchment-lined sheet pan and press it down into one even layer. Season generously with salt and pepper.
- Add Cheese Layer: Lay the slices of cheddar cheese evenly on top of the first beef layer, leaving about a ½ inch border around the edges for sealing.
- Top with Remaining Beef: Sprinkle the remaining ground beef on top of the cheese layer and gently press it down into an even layer. Press the edges firmly to seal the cheese inside the meat layers.
- Bake the Sliders: Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes for rare, 12 minutes for medium-rare, or 14 minutes for well done, depending on your preferred doneness.
- Make the Burger Sauce: While the sliders bake, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, and ground black pepper in a bowl until smooth and well combined. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Rest the Cooked Meat: Remove the sheet pan burger from the oven and let it sit for 2-3 minutes to allow the cheese to settle and to make slicing easier. Drain off any excess rendered fat.
- Assemble the Sliders: Slice the brioche buns horizontally and spread a generous amount of the prepared burger sauce on the cut sides. Transfer the layered beef and cheese onto the bottom buns, add sliced tomato and lettuce, then top with the buns’ tops.
- Slice and Serve: Using a large serrated knife, carefully cut through the assembled burgers along the bun lines to yield 12 individual sliders. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- For juicier sliders, use ground beef with a slightly higher fat content, such as 80/20.
- Feel free to customize toppings to your liking, such as adding pickles, onions, or different cheeses.
- If you prefer, substitute brioche buns with any soft dinner rolls or slider buns you have available.
- Keep an eye on the baking time to avoid overcooking; adjust based on your oven’s performance.
- To make it easier to cut, let the sliders rest briefly after baking so the cheese firms up slightly.
