Description

Delight in a sweet and crunchy treat with this easy-to-make Oreo Popcorn recipe. Combining buttery microwave popcorn with creamy melted white chocolate and crunchy crushed Oreos, this snack is perfect for movie nights or casual gatherings. Ready in just 50 minutes, it's a fun twist on traditional popcorn that Oreo lovers will adore.

Ingredients

Popcorn

  • 2 bags microwave popcorn (full size, 3-3.5 oz each)

Chocolate Coating

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Oreos

  • 2 cups Oreos, finely crushed (regular or Double Stuf)
  • 1 cup Oreos, roughly crushed (regular or Double Stuf)

Instructions

  1. Pop the popcorn: Pop your popcorn according to the package directions. Once popped, transfer the popcorn into a large mixing bowl to prepare for coating.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave in 45 to 60 second intervals until fully melted and smooth, stirring halfway through to prevent burning.
  3. Combine popcorn and chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the popcorn and gently fold together using a spatula until the popcorn is completely coated with the chocolate.
  4. Add crushed Oreos: Immediately add both the finely crushed and roughly crushed Oreos to the coated popcorn. Gently fold them in to ensure even distribution throughout the mixture.
  5. Set and serve: You can enjoy the Oreo popcorn immediately for a gooey treat, or allow it to cool for about 30 minutes so the white chocolate sets slightly, making it less messy and easier to handle.

Notes

  • Use regular or Double Stuf Oreos according to your preference; both work well in this recipe.
  • Ensure the white chocolate is fully melted for even coating without clumping.
  • For best results, use fresh popcorn right after popping to maintain optimal crunchiness.
  • If desired, store leftover Oreo popcorn in an airtight container to keep it fresh for up to 2 days.
  • To crush Oreos, place them in a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin or heavy object to break them into desired sizes.
