Description
These Mini Grilled Cheese sandwiches are a bite-sized twist on the classic comfort food. Made with soft Hawaiian sweet rolls, sharp Cheddar cheese, and a flavorful garlic herb butter, they are baked until golden and crispy. Perfect for parties, snacks, or a cozy meal paired with tomato soup.
Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet dinner rolls
- 12 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare Rolls: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Separate each roll from the package and slice each roll into thirds horizontally to create sandwich-sized pieces.
- Make Herb Butter: In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, parsley, and a pinch of salt and pepper until evenly combined.
- Butter the Rolls: Spread the garlic herb butter evenly on both cut sides of each roll piece, ensuring all pieces are coated well and all the butter is used up.
- Assemble Sandwiches: Cut the Cheddar slices into squares that fit the rolls. Arrange half of the buttered roll pieces on a baking sheet, place 2 pieces of Cheddar on each, and top with the remaining buttered roll slices.
- Bake Sandwiches: Bake assembled sandwiches for 5-7 minutes. Remove from oven, flip each sandwich carefully, and press down slightly with the back of a metal spatula to compact them.
- Bake Again: Return the sandwiches to the oven and bake another 5-7 minutes until golden, crispy, and the cheese has melted.
- Serve: Enjoy the mini grilled cheese warm. They pair wonderfully with tomato soup or your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- Use softened butter for easy mixing and spreading.
- Fresh parsley adds brightness, but dried parsley can be substituted if needed.
- For extra crispiness, broil the sandwiches for 1-2 minutes after baking, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- These sandwiches are best served immediately but can be kept warm in a low oven for a short period.
- Feel free to experiment with different cheeses like mozzarella or provolone for variation.
