Description

This Hot Sausage Feta Honey Pizza combines spicy Italian sausage, creamy mozzarella, tangy feta, and a sweet drizzle of hot honey on a perfectly baked pizza crust. Ready in just 20 minutes, it's an irresistible blend of spicy, savory, and sweet flavors that make for a deliciously unique pizza experience.

Ingredients

Pizza Base

  • 1 Prepared Pizza Dough

Cheeses

  • 1 cup Grated Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup Feta Cheese

Meat

  • 12–16 ounces Hot Italian Sausage, browned and drained

Toppings

  • Hot Honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place a pizza steel or stone inside to heat thoroughly for the best crust texture.
  2. Prepare Dough: Roll, stretch, spin, or pull the prepared pizza dough on a floured pizza peel until it forms roughly a 12-inch round shape.
  3. Add Mozzarella: Evenly spread 1 cup of grated mozzarella cheese over the stretched dough, ensuring full coverage.
  4. Add Sausage: Distribute the browned and drained hot Italian sausage evenly on top of the mozzarella layer.
  5. Add Feta: Sprinkle feta cheese (between 1/4 to 1/2 cup, according to taste) evenly over the sausage.
  6. Bake: Transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza steel or stone and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and puffed, mozzarella is melted and slightly browned, and feta is warm though not fully melted.
  7. Drizzle Hot Honey: Remove the pizza from the oven, slice into portions, and drizzle hot honey liberally over the cut pizza slices before serving for a perfect balance of sweet and spicy notes.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure the pizza stone or steel is thoroughly preheated to get a crisp crust.
  • The quantity of feta can be adjusted based on preference for a stronger or milder tangy flavor.
  • Browning and draining the sausage before adding prevents excess grease on the pizza.
  • If hot honey is unavailable, you can make a quick version by warming honey with chili flakes or hot sauce.
  • Use a floured pizza peel to prevent sticking when transferring the pizza to the oven.
