Description

Celebrate the holidays with a festive and delicious Holiday Tree Shaped Charcuterie Board. This easy-to-assemble platter combines fresh rosemary sprigs, vibrant seasonal fruits, a variety of cheeses, and assorted nuts arranged into a charming Christmas tree shape that's perfect for any holiday gathering.

Ingredients

Herbs and Vegetables

  • 10 fresh rosemary sprigs (more or less depending on size)
  • 1 celery stalk

Fruits

  • Red seedless grapes (clipped into small clusters or stems removed)
  • Green seedless grapes (clipped into small clusters or stems removed)
  • Black seedless grapes (clipped into small clusters or stems removed)
  • ½ cup fresh cranberries
  • 1-2 star fruits (sliced)
  • 1 green kiwi fruit (sliced)

Cheeses

  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar, cut into ¾-inch squares
  • 4 ounces Monterey Jack, cut into ¾-inch squares
  • 4 ounces mild or medium cheddar, cut into ¾-inch squares

Nuts

  • 1 cup assorted nuts (almonds recommended for the base)

Instructions

  1. Outline the Tree: Arrange the rosemary sprigs to form the shape of a Christmas tree, starting at the top and spreading wider at the base. Adjust sprigs as needed to create a visually appealing outline.
  2. Create the Trunk: Place the celery stalk at the bottom center to act as the tree trunk. Trim the celery to a length that fits your design.
  3. Layer the Cheeses and Grapes: Beginning at the bottom of the rosemary tree, layer rows of ingredients in narrowing rows upwards: start with a row of cheese squares, followed by a row of red grapes, then cheese again, green grapes, cheese, and black grapes. At the top, arrange kiwi slices in a triangular shape representing the top of the tree.
  4. Add the Star and Decorations: Place a single slice of star fruit at the very top to mimic a tree star. Scatter additional star fruit slices, fresh cranberries, and assorted nuts randomly over and around the tree. Use almonds in a square formation at the base around the celery to resemble a tree pot.
  5. Chill and Serve: The charcuterie board can be assembled up to 4 hours before serving. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to serve to keep fresh.

Notes

  • If star fruit is unavailable, substitute with sliced yellow bell pepper or a small star-shaped cutout of pineapple for a similar decorative effect.
  • Adjust the quantities of grapes and cheese based on the size of your platter and personal preferences.
  • Substitute nuts according to dietary restrictions or preference; however, almonds work best for the tree pot due to their shape.
  • This board can be customized with any seasonal fruits and cheeses you prefer.
  • For a festive touch, consider adding edible gold or silver dragees among the cranberries and nuts.
