Description
A refreshing Hibiscus Lemonade combining the tart floral notes of hibiscus tea with the zesty brightness of lemonade. This quick and easy beverage is perfect for a cooling summer drink or anytime you need a revitalizing boost.
Ingredients
Tea
- 2 teaspoons hibiscus tea (or 1 tea bag)
- ⅓ cup hot water
Beverage
- ⅔ cup lemonade
- 1 cup ice
- 2 lemon slices (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare Hibiscus Tea: Put the hibiscus tea and ⅓ cup of hot water into a teapot. Boil water on the stovetop or use an electric kettle set to 195°F to achieve an optimal steeping temperature.
- Steep the Tea: Cover the teapot and steep for 5 minutes. Strain the tea and allow it to cool. Hibiscus tea can be steeped longer without becoming bitter, releasing its rich flavor and deep red color.
- Assemble the Lemonade: Pour ⅔ cup of lemonade into a cup filled with 1 cup of ice. Add the cooled hibiscus tea on top to blend the flavors.
- Garnish and Serve: Optionally, garnish with thin lemon slices for added visual appeal and a citrus aroma. Serve immediately for a refreshing drink.
Notes
- Use quality hibiscus tea to get the best flavor and vibrant color.
- If you prefer a sweeter drink, add honey or sugar to the hot tea before cooling.
- Adjust the lemonade quantity to balance the tartness according to your taste.
- For a chilled drink faster, cool the tea in the fridge before mixing with lemonade.
- Hibiscus tea is caffeine-free and rich in antioxidants, making this a healthy refreshment.
