Description

This Healthy Tuna Melt Wrap is a quick and delicious lunch option that comes together in just 10 minutes. Featuring a flavorful tuna salad made with Greek yogurt, mustard, lemon juice, and veggies, wrapped in a warm, cheesy tortilla, it offers a balanced meal packed with protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates—perfect to keep you energized throughout a busy afternoon.

Ingredients

Tuna Salad

  • 1 can skipjack tuna, 5 oz (or yellowfin)
  • 2 tablespoons Greek yogurt
  • ½ tablespoon Dijon mustard (or regular mustard)
  • ½ lemon, juice of (about 1 tablespoon)
  • ¼ cup corn
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced (about ¼ of a red onion)
  • 1 tablespoon dill relish or capers
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Wrap Assembly

  • ¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • 1 wrap, at least 10 inches in size (burrito sized; Siete or La Tortilla Factory recommended)
  • Olive oil (for cooking skillet)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Tuna Mixture: Drain the canned tuna thoroughly. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna with Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, corn, diced red onion, dill relish or capers, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Warm the Wrap: To make the wrap pliable, cover the burrito-sized tortilla with a damp paper towel and microwave it for 10 to 20 seconds. Lay the warm wrap flat on a clean work surface.
  3. Assemble the Wrap: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese along the edge of the wrap closest to you, leaving at least an inch of space on the sides and bottom. Top the cheese layer with the prepared tuna mixture, spreading it evenly but keeping it centered for easier wrapping.
  4. Wrap It Up: Fold the sides of the tortilla toward the middle, then fold up the bottom edge over the filling, tucking the edges under. Roll the tortilla away from you tightly to close the wrap securely.
  5. Cook the Wrap: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add a small amount of olive oil. Place the wrap seam-side down on the pan. Let it cook for 3-4 minutes, gently pressing a couple times for even heating. Flip the wrap and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the exterior is golden and slightly crispy. Adjust heat to medium-low if browning too fast.

Notes

  • Nutrition information is based on using La Tortilla Factory "Simply Better Burrito Sized Flour Tortilla" and may vary depending on the wrap used.
  • If the tuna mixture is dry, add a little more fresh lemon juice for moisture and brightness.
  • Choose a cheese that melts well, such as mozzarella or cheddar, for the best melty texture.
  • Ensure you have a clean and clear surface for wrapping the tortilla to avoid tearing.
  • Keeping filling ingredients centered makes wrapping easier and prevents leakage.
  • Using a grill pan creates attractive grill marks and a crispier exterior on the wrap.
  • To store leftovers, wrap tightly in foil and refrigerate for 1-2 days; reheat in a skillet, air fryer, or microwave.
  • For smaller portions, divide the tuna mixture between two smaller tortillas instead of one large wrap.
