Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound ground chopped beef
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 package sliced provolone cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 Tbsp. grated parmesan cheese, divided
- Cooking olive oil spray
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly spray one or two large baking sheets with cooking spray and set aside.
- Sauté aromatics: In a medium non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onions are softened and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Cook ground beef: Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until fully browned and no longer pink, about 6-8 minutes. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Turn off heat and keep warm.
- Assemble ravioli: Arrange slices of provolone cheese on the prepared baking sheet. Spoon a generous amount of the cooked meat mixture onto the center of each cheese slice. Cover each with another slice of provolone cheese to form a ravioli.
- Add sauce and cheese: Spoon a heaping tablespoon of marinara sauce over each assembled ravioli. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese evenly on top.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 2 to 4 minutes, or until the cheese melts and is bubbly.
- Seal ravioli: Remove from oven. Use a fork to press down the edges of the cheese to seal the ravioli. Carefully lift each ravioli with a large spatula.
- Serve: Serve immediately while hot and enjoy your keto-friendly cheesy ravioli.
- Yield: This recipe yields approximately 12 to 14 keto ravioli pieces.
Notes
- Ensure the ground beef is fully cooked through before assembling to avoid undercooked filling.
- Using sliced provolone cheese creates the ravioli shape without traditional pasta, keeping this recipe keto-friendly.
- Adjust salt and pepper according to taste, especially since cheese can be salty.
- Serve immediately to enjoy the melty cheese texture.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated gently to avoid overcooking the cheese.
