Ingredients
Cake Pop Base
- 1 box vanilla cake mix
- 1/3 cup vanilla icing
Coating & Decoration
- 1 bag white candy melts (12 oz)
- Mini chocolate chips (for eyes & buttons)
- Orange sprinkles or orange candy melts (for nose)
Instructions
- Prepare and bake cake: Follow the package directions for the vanilla cake mix and pour the batter into two greased 8×8-inch round cake pans. Bake at 350°F (177°C) until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cakes cool completely.
- Crumble and mix: Using a fork, crumble the cooled cakes into a large bowl. Stir in the vanilla icing until the mixture is well combined and sticky enough to form balls.
- Shape cake balls: Roll the mixture into small and medium-sized smooth balls to form the snowman's head and body. Place the balls on a tray and freeze for 20 minutes or until firm.
- Assemble snowmen: Melt the white candy melts in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip a cake pop stick into melted candy, then insert it into a small cake ball (head). Dip the stick again and attach a larger cake ball (body) below the head. Freeze assembled snowmen for 10 minutes to set.
- Coat cake pops: Fully dip each assembled snowman into the melted white candy melts, ensuring an even coating. Allow excess chocolate to drip off.
- Decorate: While the coating is still wet, press mini chocolate chips onto the snowman for eyes and buttons. Add an orange sprinkle or small piece of orange candy melt for the nose.
- Set and serve: Let the cake pops stand for 10-15 minutes until the coating hardens. Enjoy your adorable snowman cake pops!
Notes
- Use two different ball sizes to create distinguishable heads and bodies for the snowmen.
- If candy melts are too thick, add a small amount of vegetable oil to thin them for easier dipping.
- Store cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
- You can substitute orange candy melts with orange sanding sugar if desired for the nose.
- Make sure the cake is completely cooled before crumbling to avoid clumping.
