Description
These Dubai-Inspired Chocolate Strawberries are a delightful no-bake freezer dessert featuring layers of creamy pistachio filling, juicy strawberries, crispy toasted kataifi, and rich dark chocolate. Made using a silicone mold for easy layering and minimal mess, they offer a perfect blend of textures and flavors, ideal for a refreshing treat or elegant party dessert.
Ingredients
For the Kataifi Mixture
- 1 cup kataifi (toasted)
- 1/4 cup pistachio cream
- 1 tbsp oil or butter
For the Strawberry Layer
- 2-3 juicy red strawberries (sliced)
For the Chocolate Coating
- 1 1/4 cup dark chocolate
- 2 tsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Toast the Kataifi: In a medium skillet over medium heat, add the oil or butter, then add the shredded kataifi. Toss occasionally until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat immediately and transfer the toasted kataifi to a bowl.
- Combine with Pistachio Cream: Mix the toasted kataifi with the pistachio cream thoroughly until fully combined. Set this mixture aside.
- Melt the Chocolate: Using a microwave or double boiler, melt the dark chocolate with coconut oil. Heat in 30-second increments, stirring well between each session to ensure a smooth and creamy texture.
- Assemble in Silicone Molds: Layer the ingredients in silicone molds starting with a layer of melted chocolate, followed by sliced strawberries, then the pistachio-kataifi mixture, and topped off with more melted chocolate to seal the layers.
- Freeze: Place the filled molds in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours to set completely.
- Serve and Store: Once frozen and set, remove the chocolate strawberries from the molds and enjoy. Store leftovers in the refrigerator or freezer according to your preference.
Notes
- For a smooth and glossy chocolate finish, melt chocolate in short bursts in the microwave (about 30 seconds at a time), stirring between each burst. Adding 1-2 teaspoons of coconut oil helps the chocolate melt evenly and improves pourability.
- If you don't have a silicone mold, you can use cupcake liners in a muffin tin to layer the dessert. Once frozen, simply peel off the liners to serve.
