Description

This Cajun Turkey Breast recipe features a flavorful and juicy turkey breast infused with a bold Cajun injection marinade and seasoning. The turkey is marinated, baked to perfection, and then rested to retain its moisture, resulting in a tender and spicy main dish perfect for gatherings or a special family meal.

Ingredients

Turkey

  • 3 Pounds Turkey Breast (thawed)

Seasoning and Marinade

  • 2 teaspoons Cajun Seasoning
  • 3/4 Cup Cajun Injection Marinade

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Turkey: Place the thawed turkey breast into a baking dish to ready it for marination and baking.
  2. Inject Marinade: Using an injector syringe, carefully inject the Cajun Injection Marinade into the turkey breast at multiple angles to distribute the flavors evenly. Pour any remaining marinade over the top of the turkey.
  3. Marinate: Let the turkey breast sit at room temperature for an hour to allow the marinade to absorb. During this time, reinject the marinade if it seeps out to maximize flavor infusion.
  4. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking.
  5. Season and Bake: Sprinkle the Cajun Seasoning evenly over the outside of the turkey breast. Place the turkey breast uncovered in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 1.5 hours, or until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part reads 160°F.
  6. Rest: Once baked, create a foil tent over the turkey breast and let it rest for 1 hour. This resting period allows the temperature to reach the safe 165°F mark while keeping the meat juicy and tender.
  7. Serve: After resting, slice and serve the flavorful Cajun turkey breast.

Notes

  • Ensure the turkey breast is fully thawed before starting the recipe for even cooking.
  • Using a meat thermometer is crucial to ensure the turkey is cooked safely and remains juicy.
  • Resting the turkey under a foil tent helps retain moisture and finish cooking gently.
  • If an injector syringe is unavailable, marinate the turkey breast longer to enhance flavor, though injection provides the best infusion.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning quantity to taste if a milder or spicier flavor is preferred.
