Description

This easy 5-Ingredient Football Dip is a crowd-pleaser that's ready in just 35 minutes. Featuring layers of seasoned ground beef, creamy softened cream cheese, tangy salsa, and sharp cheddar cheese, it’s perfect for game day or casual gatherings. Baked until bubbly and cheesy, this savory dip combines bold flavors with simple preparation.

Ingredients

Meat and Seasoning

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 tbsp taco seasoning

Dip Base

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 oz) jar salsa (mild, medium, or hot)

Topping

  • 1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Cook Beef: Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until no pink remains. Drain any excess fat, then stir in the taco seasoning until evenly combined.
  2. Assemble the Dip Layers: Spread the softened cream cheese evenly on the bottom of a pie dish. Pour the salsa over the cream cheese layer. Next, spoon the seasoned ground beef on top of the salsa. Finally, sprinkle the shredded sharp cheddar cheese over the meat layer.
  3. Bake the Dip: Cover the assembled dip with foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove the foil during the last few minutes if you prefer a slightly browned cheese topping.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease in the dip.
  • Choose your preferred salsa heat level – mild, medium, or hot – to adjust spiciness.
  • Allow cream cheese to soften fully for easier spreading.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, crackers, or sliced vegetables for dipping.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
